This guide will explain how to connect your web3 wallet, in particular MetaMask to the Arbitrum network TheStandard is currently only available on the Arbitrum blockchain (Full blockchain name is Arbitrum One). Arbitrum is a layer 2 to Ethereum so you will still have the full security of the ethereum blockchain but without the massive transaction fees. Before engaging with TheStandard.io, you'll need to add the Arbitrum network to your MetaMask.

Step1: Setting Up Your Wallet

  1. Download MetaMask: If you haven't already, download and install the MetaMask extension for your browser from the . MetaMask is available for Chrome, Firefox, Brave, and Edge browsers.

  2. Create Your Wallet: Follow the on-screen instructions to create a new wallet. Remember to safely store your seed phrase.

  3. Connect to TheStandard.io: Visit TheStandard.io and click on the "Connect Wallet" button on the homepage. Choose MetaMask or your preferred Web3 wallet from the list of options.

Step2: Adding Arbitrum to MetaMask

TheStandard is currently only available on the Arbitrum blockchain. Arbitrum is a layer 2 to Ethereum so you will still have the full security of ethereum but without the massive transaction costs. Before engaging with TheStandard.io, you'll need to add the Arbitrum network to your MetaMask to interact with the decentralized app.

Manual Configuration:

  1. Open MetaMask: Click on the network selection dropdown at the top of the MetaMask app.

  2. Add Network: Select "add network" "Custom RPC" from the dropdown list.

  3. Enter Arbitrum Network Details: Input the Arbitrum network settings. You can find the most current Arbitrum network details on the official Arbitrum documentation. Typically, you'll need to enter the Network Name (Arbitrum One), New RPC URL, Chain ID (42161), Currency Symbol (ETH), and Block Explorer URL.

  4. Save and Switch: Click "Save," and MetaMask will automatically switch you to the Arbitrum network.

Using Chainlist.org:

Using chainlist.org is a great way to ensure you get connected to the fastest arbitrum node. It's a very good service for adding new networks to your metamask or web3 wallet.

  1. Visit Chainlist: Go directly to .

  2. Connect Your Wallet: Find "Arbitrum One" box in the list and click the corresponding "Connect Wallet" button. This will prompt MetaMask to add the Arbitrum network automatically.
